Foundation for the Future, working in association with CCI Spain in Madrid and Greenheart International in Chicago, IL, is an international cultural exchange program designed to deepen students’ understanding of language and culture through experiential learning. To-date, the foundation has provided over 5,000 students with the lifelong benefits of a cultural exchange experience.
The ripple effect of this program goes beyond the classroom. Funds acquired from the School-to-School program allow Foundation for the Future to financially support numerous ecological and educational projects such as the ecological center Casita Verde on the island of Ibiza. The School-to-School exchange program matches international student groups to attend academic classes and live with local families for 2-3 weeks in one another’s home country. This academic exchange offers an opportunity for students and teachers to be immersed in a host country’s language while providing creative opportunities to incorporate coursework within their curriculum.
Most groups consist of 10-20 students accompanied by a teacher. Groups can be larger or smaller depending on the needs and resources of the schools.
